은/는 تُقدم موضوعًا أو تباينًا؛ 이/가 تُحدد الفاعل النحوي وتضيف تركيزًا. 저는 학생이에요 ("أما أنا، [فأنا] طالب") مقابل 제가 학생이에요 ("أنا الطالب"). التحول في المعنى دقيق ولكنه حقيقي.
نفس الفعل، ثلاثة مستويات: 해 (غير رسمي، للأصدقاء)، 해요 (مهذب يوميًا)، 합니다 (رسمي، للعمل والغرباء). اختر الخاطئ وستبدو إما وقحًا أو متصلبًا.
