How to learn Coreano
a beginner guide for English speakers
Il sistema di scrittura coreano, l'Hangul, รจ la parte piรน facile: รจ fonetico ed รจ stato deliberatamente progettato per essere imparabile in un giorno. Le difficoltร arrivano dopo: l'ordine delle parole SOV, le particelle e un sistema di cortesia intessuto in ogni verbo.
Why Coreano is hard for English speakers
- Ordine delle parole Soggetto-Oggetto-Verbo: "Io mela mangio" invece di "Io mangio mela."
- Le particelle si attaccano ai nomi per marcarne il ruolo: ์/๋ (argomento), ์ด/๊ฐ (soggetto), ์/๋ฅผ (oggetto), ์ (luogo/tempo).
- Le desinenze di cortesia cambiano il verbo a seconda di chi ci si rivolge: ํด์ (educato-informale), ํฉ๋๋ค (educato-formale), ํ๋ค (semplice).
- I cambiamenti di suono (batchim) fondono le consonanti tra le sillabe โ ์
๋๋ค si legge imnida, non ip-ni-da.
- Gli onorifici elevano il soggetto: ์๋ฒ์ง๊ป์ ์์ฌํ์
จ์ด์ invece di ์๋น ๊ฐ ๋จน์์ด์.

Coreano grammar pitfalls to watch for
Marcatori di argomento vs soggetto
์/๋ introduce un argomento o un contrasto; ์ด/๊ฐ marca il soggetto grammaticale e aggiunge enfasi. ์ ๋ ํ์์ด์์ ("per quanto mi riguarda, [io sono] uno studente") vs ์ ๊ฐ ํ์์ด์์ ("io sono lo studente"). Il cambiamento di significato รจ sottile ma reale.
Desinenze di cortesia
Stesso verbo, tre registri: ํด (informale, amici), ํด์ (educato quotidiano), ํฉ๋๋ค (formale, lavoro e sconosciuti). Scegliere quello sbagliato ti fa sembrare maleducato o rigido.
Radice del verbo + desinenza
La coniugazione coreana รจ radice + tempo + desinenza di cortesia impilate insieme: ๊ฐ๋ค (andare) โ ๊ฐ + ์ + ์ด์ โ ๊ฐ์ด์ ("sono andato/a," educato). Esercitati con il modello di impilamento; le tabelle verbali grezze sono meno utili.
